We will be spending 5 days in Ubud and 5 days somewhere along the coast. A friend recommended against staying in Denspar. Can you recommend any great coastal places to stay?

Oh lovely, I did a day trip to Ubud and there is lots of markets and rice fields. I stayed in Seminyak north of Kuta – this is a little bit more pricey but fantastic. Close to all the action, the best bars and if you feel like treating yourself check out the “W” Hotel. I didn’t stay there but looks absolutely amazing! Jimbaran Bay is also a gorgeous coastal area.
